Gesellschaftliche Gräben - Social rifts

Diskutieren mit fortschrittsgläubigen jungen Leuten scheint fruchtlos, die Gräben zu tief, kein common ground in Sicht.
Ein Schlag ins Gesicht für diejenigen, die sich in den letzten 50 Jahren progressiv und staatskritisch sahen und nun erzkonservativ dastehen in den Augen einer Jugend, die an den Virus und das Carbon glaubt und in der Entfaltung der ("vielen" und "nichtbinären") Geschlechter eine Fortsetzung des Kampfes für individuelle Freiheitsrechte sieht und nichts anderes.
Aber auch einige der Altprogressiven sind dabei. D.h. auch die Szene der Altprogressiven ist gespalten. "Teile und herrsche".

Discussions with progressive young people seem futile, the rifts too deep, no common ground in sight.
A slap in the face for those who saw themselves as progressive and critical of the state in the last 50 years and now look like arch-conservatives in the eyes of a youth that believes in that virus and carbon and sees the development of the ("many" and "non-binary") sexes and genders as a continued struggle for individual liberties and nothing else.
Yet some of the alt-progressives are in on it too. I.e. the scene of the alt-progressives is also divided. "Divide and rule".
